On November 25th, 2018 Rotaract held its 5th annual event Pasa Pret cu Rotaract celebrating the International declaration of the Rights of the Child by the United Nations. Pasa Pret cu Rotaract is a children’s fair for all children in Aruba, where children could play different games and receive different prizes. There were also different kinds of entertainment, such as DJ’s, dance groups and artists making it a fun day for the whole family.
The goal of this project is to give the children of our community a special children’s fair as a gift in connection with Universal Children’s day. Therefore, the entrance to the children fair was completely free and accessible for all children, parents, and their extended family.
Compared to the previous years, this year the event had a bigger reception amounting to 300 children and their families visiting the event. Also, an addition to this year was several community support such as the “Mi Mami” group, the Mo-B Lab, and firefighters arriving in fire trucks dressed as superheroes. Mi Mami group is a closed group of mothers who support each other, and guide and advice each other with motherhood subjects They contributed to the event by inviting the mothers of the group to attend the event with their kids. Mo-B Lab is a mobile makerspace where the children could explore the latest technologies in a bus. The firefighters arriving in Superheroes costumes was to bring positive awareness of firefighters as superheroes for the children.
